Why This System
Vindar systems are representative of the Singapore mid-market aluminium category. The cleaning approach detailed here applies broadly to this product tier. Tropical UV exposure accelerates powder coat chalking on all mid-market Singapore aluminium at a similar rate regardless of fabricator - frame inspection should be standard practice on every visit.

Step 2 of 2: The Orloffs Protocol
The Orloffs Protocol
This is how I clean Vindar Aluminium windows. The tools and technique below come from 25 years of daily professional work on the glass. Every step has been tested on real installations and adapted specifically for Vindar Aluminium systems.
Pro Tools
My daily tool list. This is what I carry to every job.
Follow these steps in order. Each one builds on the last. This is the same sequence I use on every Vindar Aluminium installation.
- 1
Track clean
Brush tracks clear of debris.
- 2
Pre-rinse
Rinse glass and frames with clean water.
- 3
Glass clean
Solution, washer, squeegee top to bottom.
- 4
Frame wipe
Damp cloth, rinse thoroughly.
- 5
Lubricate and inspect
PTFE on sliding tracks, check seals and hardware.
Pro Tips
- Morning cleans before direct sun hits the glass eliminate most of the solution-drying issues that cause re-streaking
- Carry a fine wire for weep hole clearing - blocked weep holes on Singapore monsoon-season visits cause immediate water ingress problems
What NOT To Do
- Do not use abrasive pads on powder-coated aluminium frames
- Do not leave cleaning solution drying on frames in direct tropical sun
- Do not skip track cleaning on sliding systems

Field Notes
βVindar systems are straightforward to service when maintained on a consistent tropical schedule. The challenge is always the first clean on a property that has been on a European maintenance interval - budget extra time.β
