Follow these steps in order. Each one builds on the last. This is the same sequence I use on every Teva Windows installation.

1. Identify system type - German uPVC or aluminium. Different frame cleaning protocols apply.

2. Pre-rinse frames and glass with clean water.

3. Apply pH-neutral detergent - critical on uPVC, never use alkaline or solvent products.

4. Squeegee glass top to bottom; overlap strokes.

5. Wipe uPVC frames with microfibre; lubricate tilt-and-turn hardware annually with PTFE spray.
Pro Tips
- German uPVC in Johannesburg UV: check profile surface annually for chalking - early-stage UV degradation is invisible but testable by rubbing a white cloth on the profile.
- Tilt-and-turn hardware: lubricate the multi-point locking mechanism annually. Johannesburg's dry air and dust can cause stiffness.
