Why This System
Sierra Pacific owns their timber supply - the wood interiors are exceptionally high quality, direct from sustainably managed California forests. This makes wood interior damage even more significant - you are damaging a quality natural product. California hard water deposits on exterior glass are a constant consideration. Sierra Pacific glass on Central Valley and Southern California properties commonly carry irrigation overspray mineral deposits.

Step 2 of 2: The Orloffs Protocol
The Orloffs Protocol
This is how I clean Sierra Pacific Windows windows. The tools and technique below come from 25 years of daily professional work on the glass. Every step has been tested on real installations and adapted specifically for Sierra Pacific Windows systems.
Pro Tools
My daily tool list. This is what I carry to every job.
Follow these steps in order. Each one builds on the last. This is the same sequence I use on every Sierra Pacific Windows installation.
- 1
Assess exterior deposits
On California properties, check for mineral deposits before standard cleaning. Apply Low-E-safe deposit remover with dwell time if needed.
- 2
Protect wood interiors
Position microfibre at sill before glass cleaning.
- 3
Clean frames non-abrasively
pH-neutral microfibre wipe on aluminium cladding.
- 4
Squeegee glass and detail
Controlled strokes. Dry wood contact immediately.
Pro Tips
- California hard water deposit treatment is an almost universal upsell on Sierra Pacific properties with gardens. Build it into the quote.
What NOT To Do
- Do not allow water onto wood interior surfaces
- Do not use abrasive tools on aluminium cladding or glass
- Do not use HF-based cleaners on Low-E glass
