Glass
- Pre-rinse glass before applying cleaning solution. This is non-negotiable on coastal properties in Adelaide and Hobart.
- Use pH-neutral glass cleaning solution. On dark timber-look frames, avoid any product that leaves residue - test your solution on an inconspicuous area first if changing products.
- Squeegee from top to bottom, overlapping strokes. Wipe rubber after every pull - on dark frames, a dirty rubber blade leaves visible lines.
- Detail all edges and frame-to-glass junctions with a clean dry cloth. Residue at these junctions is highly visible on premium finishes.
Aluminium Frames
- Wipe with a clean soft cloth dampened in pH-neutral solution. Work top to bottom.
- On timber-look finishes, use a fresh cloth for every window - a dirty cloth leaves marks on the textured surface that are visible under raking light.
- Rinse all frames thoroughly. On dark finishes, cleaning solution residue is highly visible when dry.
Bifold Tracks
- Brush and clear the top and bottom track channels before any water cleaning. Debris in a bifold track causes binding during thermal expansion.
- Apply silicone lubricant to track surfaces after cleaning - not petroleum-based lubricants, which soften rubber seals.
- Test the bifold operation through its full range after cleaning and lubrication. Report any stiffness or misalignment to the property manager.

- On Rylock timber-look finishes, finish each window with a dry microfibre buff after wiping - this removes any last residue and lifts the finish to the level clients expect
- Always test bifold operation before and after cleaning so you can accurately report whether any stiffness was present before your visit
What NOT To Do
- Do not use dirty squeegee rubber on timber-look or dark powder-coat Rylock finishes - wipe the blade after every pull
- Do not use abrasive pads or scouring compounds on any Rylock frame

- Do not leave cleaning solution residue on dark frame finishes - it dries visibly
