Why This System
Local Philippine fabrication means PHILCONCH can produce non-standard sizes and configurations that imported ready-made products cannot match - useful context because bespoke-size windows may have non-standard seal or hardware specifications. uPVC in the Philippine climate faces intense UV, typhoon-force winds, and year-round humidity. The cleaning protocol is identical to other Philippine uPVC - the origin of manufacture does not change the tropical cleaning approach.

Official Care Guidance

Glass
- pH-neutral, solvent-free solution. Squeegee top to bottom. Pre-rinse to remove tropical deposits.
uPVC Frames
- pH-neutral, solvent-free cleaner only.
- Check frame surface condition on every clean. Philippine UV causes earlier surface degradation than cooler climates.
- Rinse thoroughly and inspect glazing bead condition.
Step 2 of 2: The Orloffs Protocol
The Orloffs Protocol
This is how I clean PHILCONCH windows. The tools and technique below come from 25 years of daily professional work on the glass. Every step has been tested on real installations and adapted specifically for PHILCONCH systems.
Pro Tools
My daily tool list. This is what I carry to every job.
Follow these steps in order. Each one builds on the last. This is the same sequence I use on every PHILCONCH installation.
- 1
Track and drainage prep
Clear sliding tracks and weep holes before introducing water.
- 2
Pre-rinse
Rinse all surfaces with clean water.
- 3
Glass clean
pH-neutral solvent-free solution, squeegee.
- 4
uPVC frame clean
pH-neutral solvent-free wipe, rinse.
- 5
Post-typhoon check when applicable
Seals, glazing beads, drainage, frame integrity.
Pro Tips
- Philippine clients on custom-fabricated windows often do not know the exact product specification - take a photograph of the frame corner and window identification mark on first clean for your records
What NOT To Do
- Do not use solvent or abrasive products on uPVC
- Do not skip post-typhoon inspection
- Do not force sliding windows with debris-loaded tracks - clear tracks first
