The range from Builders vinyl to La Cantina luxury folding walls is enormous. These are effectively different products requiring different cleaning approaches - the key is identifying which JELD-WEN product family you are working on before starting. La Cantina folding and multi-slide systems are the most complex JELD-WEN product to service. Large aluminium-framed glass panels, floor-level tracks, and multiple panel configurations require specific technique and more time than standard windows. Builders Series vinyl is extremely common and straightforward. Standard pH-neutral vinyl cleaning technique applies. Do not over-complicate it.

Pro Tips

La Cantina panels stack against one another when fully open. Clean each panel in the extended (open) position first to access all surfaces, then partially fold to clean the face-to-face surfaces that are hidden when stacked.
On JELD-WEN Builders double-hung windows, the tilt-wash mechanism is plastic and can fatigue on older units. Check the tilt latch before tilting - if it feels loose or does not click firmly, clean without tilting to avoid breaking the pivot.
New construction JELD-WEN Builders windows often have construction debris on the glass - overspray, sticker residue, concrete splatter. Price first-clean new construction separately from maintenance cleaning - the time required is significantly greater.

What NOT To Do

Do not operate La Cantina folding systems with debris in the floor track - the panel weight damages the track surface
Do not use solvent or alkaline products on any JELD-WEN vinyl or aluminium frame
Do not use abrasive pads on powder-coated or anodised aluminium
Do not allow water contact on Aurora wood interior surfaces
Do not underestimate the time required to service La Cantina systems - price them appropriately
