This is how I clean Gulf Extrusions windows. The tools and technique below come from 25 years of daily professional work on the glass. Every step has been tested on real installations and adapted specifically for Gulf Extrusions systems.

Follow these steps in order. Each one builds on the last. This is the same sequence I use on every Gulf Extrusions installation.

1. Never clean in midday sun - Gulf glass surfaces exceed 70°C. Clean early morning or after sunset.

2. Flush frames and glass with clean water first - sand on the surface acts as an abrasive if you squeegee dry.

3. Apply pH-neutral detergent; dwell briefly on salt-air deposits.

4. Squeegee glass top to bottom with overlapping strokes.

5. Wipe frames with microfibre; clear weep holes and drainage channels - sand builds up rapidly.
Pro Tips
- Sand micro-abrasion is the primary long-term threat to powder coat on Gulf Extrusions profiles - never dry-wipe sandy frames. Always wet first.
- Coastal Dubai and Abu Dhabi installs: salt deposits form at weep holes and frame-to-glass gasket zones. Clear these on every visit.
- Thermal break profiles: the polyamide break is inside the profile and not a cleaning concern, but the seal between the inner and outer aluminium sections is a water-ingress point if weep holes block.
What NOT To Do
- Do not clean in direct Gulf summer sun - detergent bakes onto glass and frames instantly.
- Do not dry-wipe sandy frames - sand scratches powder coat.
- Do not use acid descalers on Gulf Extrusions powder-coated profiles.
