Why This System
Encraft controls extrusion, so profile wall thickness and reinforcement spec are consistent. In India's fragmented fabrication market, this matters - many fabricators use whatever profile is cheapest that week. Encraft's vertical integration means a more predictable product for cleaners.
Kanpur and North India generally sit in a high-dust, high-pollution corridor. Encraft uPVC profiles will carry a combination of industrial particulate, dust, and UV-degraded surface film. The profiles are sensitive to aggressive chemical cleaners - particularly high-pH products that attack the stabiliser system in the uPVC compound.

The Orloffs Protocol
This is how I clean Encraft India windows. The tools and technique below come from 25 years of daily professional work on the glass. Every step has been tested on real installations and adapted specifically for Encraft India systems.
Pro Tools
My daily tool list. This is what I carry to every job.
Follow these steps in order. Each one builds on the last. This is the same sequence I use on every Encraft India installation.
- 1
1. Dry brush tracks and sills to remove loose dust before wetting - North India dust turns to paste when wet.
- 2
2. Pre-rinse frames with clean water to float off surface grit.
- 3
3. Apply pH-neutral detergent to glass; clean top to bottom with squeegee.
- 4
4. Wipe frames with damp microfibre - do not scrub, use gentle pressure.
- 5
5. Clear weep holes and drain slots; final dry wipe of hardware.
Pro Tips
- North India summer: clean early morning - afternoon temperatures cause rapid evaporation and streaking.
- Check steel reinforcement channels inside profiles at corner joints - moisture ingress at joins causes internal rust staining that bleeds through.
- Tilt-and-turn hardware is more complex - do not force if stiff, lubricate the pivot points with a PTFE spray.
What NOT To Do
- Do not use alkaline or acid-based cleaners on uPVC profiles.
- Do not use steel wool or abrasive pads - permanently scratches the profile surface.
- Do not jet-wash directly into tilt-and-turn hardware recesses.

Frequently Asked Questions
Field Notes
โKanpur and the North India industrial belt produce windows with heavy particulate buildup. Expect a pre-clean step on every visit - the dry brush pass before wetting saves you smearing dust into paste. On residential complexes, tilt-and-turn hardware is often under-lubricated at installation - a PTFE spray on the mechanism prevents cleaner damage.โ
