Why This System
Acoustic windows use heavier glass - acoustic laminated units are significantly heavier than standard double glazing. Hinge loading on casements is higher, and hinge maintenance is more critical. Multi-point sealing systems on acoustic windows require the seals to compress evenly around the full sash perimeter. Seal condition inspection at every clean is essential - a failed seal on an acoustic window means the acoustic rating is gone, not just air ingress. Acoustic Laminated Glass
- Treat acoustic laminated glass exactly as standard laminated glass for cleaning - pH-neutral solution, squeegee, no abrasives.
- Inspect edge seals at every clean. Any discolouration, bubbling, or seal separation at the glass perimeter must be reported immediately.
- Ensure no water pools at the base of the glazing pocket after cleaning.
Premium Aluminium Frames
- pH-neutral solution on all frame surfaces. Rinse thoroughly.
- Identify finish - powder coat or anodised - before applying any product.
- Do not use abrasive pads or alkaline products.
Multi-Point Hardware and Seals
- Check all lock points for clean engagement on every visit.
- Inspect the perimeter seal condition - compression gaskets on acoustic windows show wear at corner junctions first.
- Apply PTFE lubricant to lock mechanisms annually.

Follow these steps in order. Each one builds on the last. This is the same sequence I use on every Eleganz Aluminium installation.

Pre-clean system check
Operate all windows, check lock engagement, inspect seals visually before cleaning begins.

Glass clean
pH-neutral solution, squeegee. Careful lap management on acoustic panels.
- 3
Seal and edge inspection
Check glass edge seals on all laminated units. Note any sign of seal failure.
- 4
Frame and hardware
pH-neutral frame wipe, lock point cleaning, PTFE lubrication.

Written report
Leave a written visit note with condition observations.
Pro Tips
- Premium Malaysian clients expect written condition reports as a matter of course - build this into your premium service pricing
- Heavy acoustic glass casements occasionally show a slight sag if hinges are worn - this is visible as a gap at the top of the casement in the closed position. Report it, do not attempt to adjust.

- Do not allow water to pool at acoustic glass edge seals
- Do not ignore seal condition - report any sign of seal failure immediately
