Why This System

Crealco systems are certified to South African National Standards (SANS), which means water penetration, structural, and operation performance are independently tested. For cleaners, certified installation means better seals, tighter tolerances, and more consistent hardware. These windows will perform well if cleaned correctly.

Crealco is a premium product in premium South African installations. UV loading across South Africa is intense - Crealco powder coat quality is higher than standard market product, but it still needs regular cleaning to prevent UV chalking and salt corrosion on coastal sites. Clients who have specified Crealco expect quality maintenance.

Step 1 of 2: Manufacturer Recommendations

Official Care Guidance

No official guide published. The steps below are based on Justin Orloff's 25 years hands-on experience with this system.

Step 2 of 2: The Orloffs Protocol

The Orloffs Protocol

This is how I clean Crealco windows. The tools and technique below come from 25 years of daily professional work on the glass. Every step has been tested on real installations and adapted specifically for Crealco systems.

Pro Tools

My daily tool list. This is what I carry to every job.

1Ettore Squeegee 14"
2Unger HiFlo Pure Water Pole
3Moerman Liquidator
4Boab Belt System

Follow these steps in order. Each one builds on the last. This is the same sequence I use on every Crealco installation.

  1. 1

    1. Pre-rinse frames with clean water - salt and dust loading depends on location.

  2. 2

    2. Apply pH-neutral detergent to glass and Crealco powder-coated frames.

  3. 3

    3. Squeegee glass top to bottom with clean rubber.

  4. 4

    4. Wipe frames with fresh microfibre along extrusion direction.

  5. 5

    5. Clear weep holes; check certified seal condition at frame corners.

Pro Tips

  • Crealco SANS-certified systems have better seals than standard market product - check seal condition and report any degradation promptly.
  • Cape Town coastal: Crealco frames on sea-facing installations need weep holes cleared on every visit without exception.
  • Gauteng premium installs: inspect glass for hail micro-damage on each visit. Crealco systems are in specification buildings where any defect is noticed.

What NOT To Do

  • Do not use acid descalers or abrasive products on Crealco frames.
  • Do not use blades on Crealco glass units - specify glass type with client before any remedial glass work.
  • Do not ignore any defect on a Crealco system - clients who have specified this product have high expectations.
