Why This System

Aragon's reach across Andean and Pacific coast markets means their profiles appear in altitude climates (Bogota at 2,600m, Quito at 2,850m, La Paz at 3,600m) as well as coastal and lowland installations. UV intensity at altitude is significantly higher than at sea level - powder coat degradation accelerates. The fabricator quality across 10+ countries varies enormously. Aragon profile material is consistent. The finished window from a Colombian fabricator versus a Peruvian fabricator versus a Bolivian fabricator will differ in powder coat quality, sealing, and hardware. Coastal Peru (Lima and north) is a coastal desert - very low rainfall, high morning humidity from the Humboldt current, and significant particulate from Pacific wind. This is a different maintenance environment from tropical Colombia or subtropical Chile.

In Andean altitude cities, schedule cleaning in the morning - afternoon convective storms are predictable from October to April and undo outdoor cleaning work
In Lima, always pre-rinse glass with clean water before applying cleaning solution - the particulate film bonds to dry glass surfaces and grinds into the surface if you squeegee dry

What NOT To Do

Do not use abrasive pads on powder-coated aluminium profiles
Do not use acid or alkaline cleaners on aluminium
Do not skip pre-rinsing in Lima and coastal desert installations - fine particulate is abrasive
Do not clean in Andean altitude installations during afternoon electrical storms (October to April) - lightning risk at altitude is significant

Powder coat chalking will appear earlier on west and north-facing frames than at sea level installations. Lima's coastal desert creates a specific maintenance challenge - low rainfall means frames and glass accumulate particulate without natural rain cleaning. Manual cleaning frequency should be higher than in rainfall climates. In Andean markets, rainy season scheduling matters. October to April brings daily afternoon rain in most Andean cities - morning cleaning windows are the practical approach.”
