Follow these steps in order. Each one builds on the last. This is the same sequence I use on every AIS Windows installation.

    1. Identify if glass units have coatings - AIS Ecosense (solar control) or Stronglas (toughened) are common. Ask the client or check the glass edge for etching.

    2. Pre-rinse frames and glass with clean water.

    3. Apply coating-safe pH-neutral detergent only - never use acidic or abrasive products on coated AIS glass.

    4. Squeegee top to bottom with clean rubber; overlap strokes.

    5. Wipe frames; clear weep holes; inspect gaskets.

Pro Tips

  • AIS Ecosense glass has a soft solar control coating on the room-facing surface of the outer pane - never scrape this surface.
  • North India winter: the glass edge seal on double-glazed AIS units may show condensation between panes if the unit is failing - report to client, do not attempt to clean between panes.
  • Always use fresh squeegee rubber on coated glass - nicked rubber scratches coatings.

  • Do not use razor blades or scrapers on AIS coated glass - destroys the coating permanently.
  • Do not use abrasive pads on glass or frames.
  • Do not use acidic descalers on solar control glass.
